Rhode Island Personalized Math Learning Opportunity
Empowering Schools Through Innovation in Mathematics Instruction
The Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) is partnering with New Classrooms to bring Teach to One Rhodemaps to select schools across the state.
Teach to One Rhodemaps is Rhode Island’s localized version of Teach to One Roadmaps, a nationally recognized, personalized, competency-based math learning platform.
This pilot, supported by the Bezos Family Foundation, is designed to help Rhode Island schools accelerate student learning through more individualized and coherent math instruction.
Through this partnership with New Classrooms, our students will gain access to personalized math instruction that will meet them where they are and chart a viable path to proficiency.

Program Implementation
Teach to One Rhodemaps is designed to provide schools with targeted, flexible intervention aligned to Rhode Island’s math priorities. For the 2026–27 pilot year, RIDE is focusing on grades 6–8. RIDE will consider grades 4, 5, and 9 under certain circumstances.
Instructional Model: Tier 2 math intervention that integrates with existing core instruction
Recommended Usage: 60–90 minutes per week during an intervention period or built into core math time

Extension of Core Instruction
Use Teach to One Rhodemaps as part of your core math block to keep instruction aligned and responsive for all students. Example schedule:
- In a 60-minute math block, a school uses Roadmaps 2 days per week for 30 minutes during core time.
During an Intervention Block
Use Teach to One Rhodemaps with a targeted group of students who need additional support beyond core instruction. Example schedule:
- Teach to One Rhodemaps is used 40 minutes daily during a dedicated intervention period
These examples are illustrative. We’ll partner with your team to design an implementation plan that fits your schedule, staffing, and student needs.
