Empowering Schools Through Innovation in Mathematics Instruction

Application Deadline August 8, 2025.

The Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) is partnering with New Classrooms Innovation Partners to bring Teach to One Rhodemaps to select schools across the state. Teach to One Rhodemaps is Rhode Island’s localized version of Teach to One Roadmaps, a nationally recognized, personalized, competency-based math learning platform. This pilot, supported by the Bezos Family Foundation, is designed to help Rhode Island schools accelerate student learning through more individualized and coherent math instruction.

About the Pilot Program

This pilot initiative provides participating schools with:

  • Free access to the Teach to One Rhodemaps platform for up to three school years
  • Customized training and support for educators and administrators
  • Opportunities to shape the product and implementation through feedback and collaboration with RIDE and New Classrooms

How Teach to One Rhodemaps Works

Goal Met Animation

Teach to One Rhodemaps is powered by Teach to One Roadmaps, a nationally recognized personalized math learning solution. Here’s how it supports students and educators:

  • Generates individualized pathways for each student, identifying the precise pre-, on-, and post-grade skills they need to learn to achieve proficiency
  • Recommends the skills each student is most ready to learn next in alignment with tier 1 instructional goals
  • Provides a rich array of supportive resources for each skill, including:
    • Worked examples
    • Vocabulary
    • Practice problems
    • Instructional content for educators from a variety of high-quality providers
  • Includes short-form formative assessments (“exit tickets”) for every skill, which:
    • Can be taken at any time, in or out of school
    • Measure understanding and mastery at the skill level
  • Delivers real-time data to inform core instruction and help educators tailor small-group and one-on-one instruction
  • Aligned to Rhode Island Core Standards for Mathematics and the most commonly used core math curricula in the state, ensuring coherence with local instructional priorities

Program Implementation

Teach to One Rhodemaps is designed to provide schools with targeted, flexible intervention aligned to Rhode Island’s math priorities. For the 2025–26 pilot year, RIDE is focusing on grades 6–8.

Grade Focus: Grades 6–8
Instructional Model: Tier 2 math intervention that integrates with existing core instruction
Recommended Usage: 60–90 minutes per week during an intervention period or built into core math time

Eligibility and Timeline

For the 2025–26 school year, RIDE is prioritizing participation from schools serving grades 6–8 as part of its statewide math strategy.

  • Open to Rhode Island public schools, including both district and charter schools
  • Approximately 15 schools will participate in the 2025–26 launch cohort
  • A total of 1,875 student licenses are still available statewide for the pilot year
  • Program planning and onboarding begins Summer 2025

Participation in the pilot will require:

  • A $0 Master Services Agreement (MSA) between the school/district and New Classrooms
  • A Data Sharing Agreement (DSA) between RIDE, New Classrooms, and participating schools/districts

This is the first year of a three-year partnership. While space is limited in this initial cohort, schools not selected for 2025–26 may be considered for participation in subsequent years as the program expands statewide.
